Hey there!
Lets get right to business!
Many of you have asked for the 411 on my new Yeast Free lifestyle.
It's pretty simple yet so complex. The basic principles are no yeast, no sugar!
So before I get into all the riffraff let me start with what you want to know.
This diet is without doubt about discipline and preparation.
If you can't say no to sweets and are too lazy to prep your meals, you will fail.
If you're okay with eating left overs and would rather control your weight by what you're putting in your mouth instead of hitting the gym this will work! I'm not knocking the gym, I'm just being honest. You will lose weight by simply sticking to this diet. Hitting the gym will without doubt tone your ass so I'd suggest that too!
How does this compare to Weight Watchers?
As you all know, I successfully lost 11 lbs last year on WW and I swore by it.
Here are the differences.
On WW you can eat whatever you want you just have to count your points. This is not the case with yeast free. You must stick to a strict diet with YF. With that said, I would sometimes find myself hungry while on WW, where as on YF I'm able to eat whenever I want, it just has to be the right foods. So NO hunger pains on YF.
It took me 6 weeks to lose 11 lbs on WW and 2 weeks to lose 9 with YF. Cutting the sugar and yeast out of my diet literally dropped the weight FAST!
I feel better with YF. I never feel bloated. I never feel overly full. I have lost my craving for sweets and La Croix literally rocks my world. Who would've thought sparking berry water would ever have that effect on me?! I have energy and my clothes fit well and that my friends will make anyone a believer.
You have cheat days with WW and for the first 30 days of YF there are NO cheat days. Again, discipline ladies.
I have always believed WW worked because you can eat whatever you want and now I believe that was my downfall. The fact that I could eat chicken nuggets and happy meals whenever I wanted turned into me throwing the diet out the window and eating as many happy meals as I wanted without counting the points. With YF I know that's not an option so I don't even think about McDonalds.
Without doubt, WW is EASIER than Yeast Free. You dont have to do as much meal prepping. You get cheat days and you still lose weight. I just prefer YF because I have gotten dramatic results and I LOVE the way I feel with YF as to WW. Again, this is just my opinion!
You can find all the details for Yeast Free here:
And even more on Steph's blog. So if you want more info definitely take a look at her Healthy Living section of her blog!
How do you do it??
Mind over Matter!
JUST STICK TO IT!
The first week is the HARDEST by FAR!! You will feel like shit for a few days. You body has to detox from the carb and sugar overload youve been living for years so it isnt going to be a pretty week. YOU WILL LIVE. It DOES get BETTER!
You can read a detailed day by day of what you will experience HERE.
By week 2 you will have lost quite a bit of weight and your body will be adjusting. You will feel better and the lifestyle will be getting easier!
By week 3 you will be a BELIEVER and the thought of ever looking back will feel CRAZY!!
My only complaint with this diet is the repetition in meals. Im not a cook, so its been difficult for me to come up with new things to make. This is where that little cookbook up there is REALLY going to help you out! Make new things and try to rotate your meat selection. For example: M: beef T: chicken W: fish T: turkey F: pork. This will help a lot!!
Now here are a few pictures...
Last year at 144.
Right now at 135.
{Tell my those ladies didnt even this girl out! I thank Jesus and my PS every day}
I still have a long way to go! Im a curvy girl and I carry my weight around my butt and legs so I have no choice other than to hit the gym!
Goal = 120-125 College Weight.
Thats that! Yeast Free For Me!
If you are doing the diet you definitely have to let me know so we can share recipes and be a support system! It really does help so much and Im pretty sure Steph is tired of hearing from me every day about YF!!

I’m Kristen. Welcome to All In My Twenties, my place to pour my little heart out on the daily!! This is the world just as I see it. Why dont you kick up your feet and stay awhile?!

YOU LOOK AMAZING! I am so happy you posted this, because I was really wondering how it was working out. I think with a little prep time this week, I may start YF next week!
ReplyDeleteGreat results-- congrats! The limitations on this diet do make me wonder though-- do you think it will be easy to maintain forever, like as a complete lifestyle change? I know I've personally cut out carbs and sugar for certain events I'm prepping for, but once I start to reintroduce any types of carbs, alcohol, etc. the pounds lost come back way too easily. Are there different phases of yeast-free that make it more attainable for the long term?
ReplyDeleteStephanie made this change 3 years ago and has maintained it so I definitely think its possible. She swears be the 80/20 rule which is live on the diet Monday through Friday afternoon and Friday night through Sunday eat like you want (with consideration of course! No gorging Mickey Ds!) and no more beer. Vodka only! Worked for her so Im hoping it works for me! Alcohol is my only concern!
DeleteWay to go, looking good!
ReplyDeleteDaaaamn girl you look AMAZING!!! I feel ya on the curvy part- I struggle there on the daily. Thank you for sharing this info though! I may just have to give YF a try!
ReplyDeleteGIRL! You look AWESOME!! Good for you! I'm so so tempted to try YF, but ohmygosh do I love my breads and carbs. Would love to hear your thoughts on how this will pan out in the long run. It's definitely a lifestyle change. Is it really hard to go out to eat? I echo Katie's comment - are there different phases that make it more attainable for the long term?
ReplyDeleteSee above comment! Its all about that 80/20 long term!
DeleteThanks so much for posting! I'm currently on WW but haven't been losing the weight as quickly as I would like to. It doesn't help that I have a husband who is picky (doesn't eat vegetables), a 3 yr old following in his steps and a 3 month old who... I'm trying to lose his baby weight! My husband has rheumatoid arthritis and the doctor just suggested a yeast free diet to help his joints! I think we'll give this a try!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! You will def see the results quicker!
DeleteYou look amazing and you're definitely a huge inspiration to so many girls! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI'm so inspired by you!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!
DeleteYou go girl - I admire your discipline! I'm pretty sure I couldn't stick to the YF diet. I actually enjoy busting my butt at the gym so I would rather eat and drink what I want in limited quantities and stick to organic/healthy 80-90% of the time and then workout hard. How do you deal with eating and going out? That's what would kill me! Eventually I would break down (and by eventually, I mean like in 3 days tops).
ReplyDeletehaha! It def limits eating out options but anywhere you go serves meat and veggies. I also stick with places where you can build your own meal like Chipotle or Genghis Grill. This way you know exactly what your eating. I do cook WAY more now!
DeleteYou look great!!! I am definitely going to look in to some of the yeast-free recipes, while I probably won't go at it like you have it would still be nice to incorporate much healthier meals in to my life :D Thanks so much for sharing!! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteI'm so intrigued by this, but honestly don't think I have the self-discipline for it :(
ReplyDeleteI'm allergic to seafood, so that cuts out all fish which is so good for you and easy to make.
You look awesome hun! :)
Big fat important question...how do you booze on YF? I know my beer and wine don't make the cut! I can do great all week on any diet I'm trying but come Friday I drink my weights worth.
ReplyDeleteYou cannot drink for the first 30 days! IMPOSSIBLE...right??? I thought so too and Im already 3 weekends in! If I can do it anyone can!
DeleteAfter that you can have vodka in moderation! Im a vodka girl so thats music to my ears!!
you look amazing girlie!!!! it looks really hard to follow but obviously it is paying off!! great job!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!! I have the cookbook as well and wanted your opinion on a few things. I lack in self discipline at times, but seeing your pictures make me motivated.
ReplyDeleteI know thru reading yours and Stephanie's blog that you can drink Vodka...however, is this after the first 30 days? What do you mix with your vodka?
Do you take the supplements as indicated in the Cookbook, Page 16?
Is the 80/20 lifestyle after you completed the first 30 days?
Lastly, what is the hardest thing for you following this lifestyle?
Sorry to ask so many questions but would love your input.
1. The is after the 30 days and I will drink vodka water with lime or vodka soda with lime.
Delete2. The 80/20 is after the first 30 days and its IN MODERATION! You cant go crazy with it or youll defeat the purpose.
3. The hardest thing is finding new meal ideas. Ive discovered that the easiest thing to do is google Paleo diets and then modify them to make sure they are yeast free. Paleo is VERY similar to yeast free.
Hope this helos!
My husband and I just started week two and we feel great and my stomach is definitely flatter! It's ALL in preparation and planning. You just have to want it. If you don't, it's not gonna happen! I just can't wait until next week when we can add in some fruit! You look great and I'd love to hear about some of what you've been cooking. That's my one tiny issue, the repetition of meals. :(
ReplyDeleteKeep it up girl!
That was totally me last week and I promise the fruit DEFINIETLY helps!!
DeleteIve been eating different meas and veggies, spaghetti squash spaghetti, soups, chili and fish. This week Ive added in stir fry and meatloaf! Ill def post recipe reviews sooN!
Dang, girl!! The girls look great and of course you do too! Good Job Mama!!!
ReplyDeleteLove you and miss you muffin!
DeleteSo would you say eating yeast free would be under the category of eating - clean!? I'm thinking it is.
ReplyDeleteDefninitely!
DeleteLove this post! Ever since seeing your pic on Instagram, I have been reading everything I can about YF on your blog and Steph's blog. I think I could do this. I already don't eat a lot of dairy products, just cheese. But the carbs will be the hardest part. I noticed on one of the links that the only vinegar you can have is apple cider. I usually have balsamic vinaigrette on my salad and I don't think I could do just lemon juice & olive oil as a dressing. Think I may give this a try starting in Feb. Of course I will have to cheat on V-day ;).
ReplyDeleteIt sounds a LOT harder than it is honestly. The first week is the hardest after that, youre in the clear. PROMISE!
DeleteThis is so awesome - thank you for sharing! I just started a paleo challenge with some girlfriends and am in the "feel like shit; where are my carbs?" phase. I think paleo and YF are similar so you are keeping me motivated! Congrats on the success!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing. I'm reading "Wheat Belly" right now, and I'm thinking about giving it a try. It completely makes sense.
ReplyDeleteYou look great and I love the review on how you are doing it. What other things are you eating? Are you still able to eat cheese/dairy?
No dairy! Im not a big dairy person though so it doesnt bother me much!
DeleteYou look great!! There's no way I could do it but that what it's all about right..each person is different and finding what works for you!! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!! I would think it would be so hard but your giving me some inspiration to try it!!! KEEP it up!!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic!!!!! Way to go girl!
ReplyDeleteSo is YF a lifestyle change? How hard is it to eat out? Is Chris doing this with you? I find that I usually fail in diets when they don't involve the hubs. Cooking two separate dinners and packing 2 separate lunches is terrrrrrible.
ReplyDeletePS - you look like a swimsuit model. Nice work, lady! xo
Yes its a lifestyle change. Its not too hard to eat out after the 2nd week because you can add butter back in your diet and most restaurants cook with butter. Its best to go to places where you can dtermine whats being included like Chipotle or Genghis Grill but you should def try to eat at home during the week! Chris will eat whatever I cook so he's half way doing it! I dont make him a seperate meal. Im def no swimsuit model but THANK you for the kind words!
DeleteYou're doing so amazing! If I had any willpower at all, I would totally do this! :)
ReplyDeleteCan I just take a second to tell you how proud I am of YOU??!! This blog post...your success...your tiny little waist...you inspiring others...all this makes my heart oh-so-friggin' happy!! FINALLY someone "gets" it. You are so right...it's not easy...and no one said it would be. But damn it, it's SO WORTH it!
ReplyDeleteAll this to say...there's just one more thing I have to say to you: I FLIPPING TOLD YOU SO! ;) Love you and your 9 lb skinnier ass!
MWAH!
You look great!
ReplyDeleteI have been on WW for a while and only can manage to lose 5-7 pounds in 3 months, hitting the gym 5 days a week and everything. Counting calories never has worked for me either.
Maybe I should give this a try!
I found LaCroix two years ago-and I never drink soda now. I LOVE it-Peach Pear is my favorite.
Thank you for sharing!
HOT, lady...HOT!!! You're looking awesome! Your pics on instagram blew my mind, I think I really need to give this yeast free thing a try. I'm going to be living with my parents for awhile and my Mom was just told by a naturopathic doc she can't have any sugar for 4 months - I think it would be easier to do while she's basically following the same thing! Plus I have a 3 month old and I HAVE to lose this baby weight...plus some. I'm such a carb lover though, I feel like I would have a really tough time attempting this!
ReplyDeleteDo you meal plan now, or just pick out of the cookbook that morning/night?
I have to meal plan! I could never just pick! haha!
DeleteYou look amazing, girl!!! LaCroix is the bomb! Have you tried the coconut one? That's my favorite! HEB also makes a store brand that is a lot cheaper. I love sparkling water. I am going to give this lifestyle change a thought because I think I am done breastfeeding and now I can go crazy with diet changes!
ReplyDeleteHey Kristen! Never commented before, but I just had to this time. :) I follow the Paleo diet, which is pretty much the same as YF in that it's only meat/fish, fruits/veggies and healthy fats (like avocados, healthy oils, nuts, etc.). It's tough, but I can totally testify that it works. After only a few days of STRICT Paleo, my tummy is flat. It's awesome. Here's a website that offers not only great "clean" recipes, but other tips and info on clean eating. Enjoy, and good luck!

You look amazing! I too fell off the WW wagon and am now regretting the results. It is just too easy to cheat! I have been thinking about a lifestyle change for a long time now- gluten free, yeast free, and paleo are all contenders. But I am a mom of two toddlers and wife to a diabetic, so meals can be tough to plan. My question for you is how have you seen (or not seen) your food bills go up? Cost is a huge factor for me and I know that it is often a challenge to eat health on a low budget into today's world. But I also do not want to use $ as an excuse!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being real with your progress! You look fantastic!
You look amazing! Good for you for posting this and showing REAL pictures. You look great:) I agree about this diet/way of life...it is the only thing that helped me drop my baby weight. Good luck, can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!!! I have sworen by medifast diet but lately as i am doing the 30 day shred i am not so much anymore even though my jeans fit nowthan they did last week, but as you mentioned steph's blog I have been interested in yeast free .. I think you just sold me on this!! Have you tried doing yeast free 90% of the time, does this work? I cant wait to read more about this and dive in head first...
ReplyDeletewow, you have a great body... do you really need to diet? you look amazing!
ReplyDeletewww.stylemailbox.com
Hott damnnnn girl! You look awesome. Thanks for sharing all the helpful info! And btw-the girls look ahhhmazing!
ReplyDeleteUm, first off! I understand you want to lose what but just want you to know you look great in your picture! I know girls who would kill too have your curves! My goal is to look like you do now! And good luck on your yeast free diet! Is it expensive process since you have to prepare every meal?!
ReplyDeleteJust found you from Shay's blog! I am so interested in the yeast free diet and am definitely going to look into this more. I have been having extreme body image issues since getting married last summer and I need to get disciplined and just do something about it!!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for awhile now and you just convinced me to give it a try! I'm about the same size as you and have the same exact body type. I'm a Louisiana girl though so YF will have to start after Mardi Gras!
ReplyDeleteHiii! I was thinking of making Almond Flour pancakes tonight (found the recipe on one of the websites you suggested) I was wondering if you knew of a syrup that could be used during the first two weeks of the YF diet?
ReplyDeleteThe recipe I have is as follows:
-1 cup almond flour
-2 eggs
-1/4 cup water
-1 1/2 tbsp. oil
-1/4 tsp. salt
-1 tbsp. stevia
-1/2 tsp. baking powder
Thanks!!! (I'm on Day 6)
You go girl! You should be a YF spokesperson!
ReplyDeleteHey Kristen! I've been following your journey with this diet and you look amazing!! I am currently doing WW but hate being hungry all the time! With this yeast free diet can you snack whenever you want, as long as you stick to the food list? Thanks girl!
ReplyDeleteI need motivation or any other tips!! I WANT TO DO THIS!:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having great results! I did weight watchers last year with moderate success, but have started Paleo and have really seen the weight come off with it! It definitely takes more discipline, but when you are getting such good results, its easy to stay motivated! I've tried googling it, but can't find anything, so can you give me a quick run down of how yeast free is different than Paleo? I understand that you're not an expert or anything, but I'm just curious! Also, I know this is from another post, but Spaghetti Squash has been my SAVIOR! I never even had it before doing Paleo and now it have it every week. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteI think this is awesome and would love to try it. I have recently tried the 24 day challenge from Advocare and I lost 14 lbs in the 24 days. I have since then started eating less consciencely and I need to focus back in. I haven't ever heard of this but it seems to be working for you. I would love to see what you eat for each meal on a daily basis just to figure out what you have when. I read some of the info and I know it has suggestions but in reality, how many people wake up and eat salmon or raw veggies for breakfast? So real life suggestions would be amazing!!! Also any tips you have! Glad there is someone out there that is able to accomplish something like this... it gives me hope!
ReplyDeleteI usually eat eggs, jimmy dean sausage, bacon, fruit or breakfast casserole for breakfast. I eat leftovers almost EVERY day for lunch and for dinner I look the recipes in the cookbook! My favorite are the chili, spaghetti squash, taco wraps, chicken soup, the stir fry and baked chicken or steak with veggies! Hope this helps!
DeleteYes! That's awesome and helps so much! One thing I do wonder is how does this work with eating with anyone but yourself? I have a little boy and a gf that I eat with on a regular basis and I know I won't expect them to cut these things out of their meals but how do you incorporate eating with family or friends while doing yeast free? Do you have your yeast free meal and they eat whatever?
DeleteDo you take a probiotic or nyastin??
ReplyDeleteBetween you & Steph and your hot bods, I'm literally jumping on this YF wagon cold turkey. I am going grocery shopping later & I'm going to give this lifestyle change a real go. I just started Tracy Anderson workouts and I can only imagine that coupled with a YF lifestyle is going to do amazing things for my inner and outer body :)
ReplyDeleteI want to be in your support system!!!! Put me in it, girlfriend!
