Hey there yall!
So lets catch up....
This is a number post because I have lots to tell you and this post will be all over the place.
1. Last Sunday I was sitting on my couch chatting with Mrs. Carol and I decided I needed to do something about my weight. No I dont think Im fat so please save the "oh you dont need to lose weight" comments! I promise I appreciate them, you just dont need to tell me that! This isnt a pity post. And If youre thinking "its about time"... Girl I KNOW.
I want to be healthier. I want to look better in a bikini and more than anything I want to look better butt naked.
Who doesnt??? Right.
Well Ive tried the extreme dieting and the obsessive working out and I ALWAYS end up off track. I stick with it for about a month (not long enough to see results) and I quickly shoot the diet the bird and dive face first into the McDonald's dollar menu. That shizz is my weakness right there.
So Ive turned to Weight Watchers. My friend at work has lost 19 pounds since May and girlfriend is looking GOOD! So Im giving it an honest shot and am promising myself to work out at least 3 days a week. Its only been 3 days so Im still getting in the groove with the whole counting points thing but Im already liking it. I quickly noticed that everything I LOVE to eat is at LEAST 20 points and I only get 26 points for the entire day. That explains my ass right there.
I cant believe Im doing this, but to keep myself honest and to make sure I stick with this, Im posting before pictures! I plan to post a picture weekly, which I have decided will be on Fridays because lets be real, after a weekend of boozing and maxing out points Im not gonna wanna share a pic!

Thats a badonk if Ive ever seen one!
I plan to make this my new lifestyle, not a "diet" because I really want to stick with it and I really want to keep the results!
2. The Lily bra review I posted yesterday is 100% an honest review. I know seeing "sponsored post" makes you wonder how much of what I am saying is the truth, but I PROMISE you I will never recommend anything I dont 1000% believe in and love. Please see this review if you doubt this at all. With that said, you ladies seriously need to at least try one on before you buy another VS. You will thank me later PROMISE!

Well these two little lovers are actually "the mean pups". Total snobs. My friend Kate brought over her Boxer Tyson to play on Tuesday evening and my kids wanted NO PART OF IT. They were mean to him. Tuggy snapped at him and Lilly ran from him and growled at him. It honestly embarassed me. I know I cant control how they act but seriously, Ive raised little brats.

4. I cant wait for football season! Only 48 days!! If youre wondering when I became a football fanatic, Im NOT. I could care less about the football part. I like the friends part. I LOVE always having a game to watch with friends and the socializing I get to do because of football. So for this reason alone, I CANNOT WAIT FOR FOOTBALL SEASON! Can I get a hell ya?!
5. Its suppose to rain again this weekend in Houston. Rain is good. Especially in Houston in the summer, so I will not bitch about this. There are people suffering from droughts and wild fires across the nation so I will just be thankful for the rain! I do however want to have a fun weekend and being stuck inside limits the "fun" options. So Im thinking we may try out a trampolene part and see the new Bat Man movie!!

ReplyDeleteI think it's fabulous you are reaching out to a new program. Sometimes that's what is needed to get results. I know a ton of friends who use WW because it works for them and holds them accountable. I am cheering you on girlie.
As for working out, if you keep things fun you'll enjoy working out more. Speaking from experience!

You have way more balls than I do posting a bikini pic! And in all honesty, you are going to get tons of people telling you "you look fine" and "you don't need to do that." And you're going to want to punch them in the face because that shit gets annoying. BUT once you get past the bullshit, a healthy lifestyle can be addicting. I wish you the best and give you kudos for wanting to change your life!

We have the exact same body! That's exactly what I look like, my thighs and ass are my problem areas too. I don't mind my rear as much as I do my thighs though. I really wish I had the motivation to work out, ugh.

Hey not sure what side of Houston you are on but I am in Jersey Village and go workout at LA Fitness if you ever wanna join me. I also just signed up for The Color Run in November if you wanna do that too. I am like you I go balls to the wall then I give up after a month because I am not seeing anything. That is why I signed up for The Color Run and got a trainer at LA Fitness once a week. :)

Good luck with the new lifestyle! I just recently started doing the P90x workouts and I love them! If you're looking for a way to get fit and toned, P90x is definitely the way to go. But it's all about eating right as well. Best of luck to you! :) xoxo

ummmmmm can I give you a gold star for taking a picture in your swimsuit front and back and posting it? I did that and I had to delete the picture from my phone for fear of my phone completely shattering in disgust. I was sicked the fuck out.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - I posted about my lifestyle change about a month ago and didn't want any pity "your not fat" because um, these bitches have not seen me in the flesh. Trust. I'm fat. You have way more balls than me to post a bikini pic but your also A LOT skinnier than me and I think you look amazing. However, it is all about how you feel and I'm all about the healthy lifestyle these days. Um, I've been at boot camp at 6 a.m. all week? Who am I?
It's a rough start, but it gets easier! My best advice would be find what you love to eat that is also healthy and plan ahead! Sundays I cut up fruit and veges and do all my prep for the week so it's SOOOO much easier to grab and go. And at night I make my Greek yogurt snack for the next day to take to work.
Anyway - I could go on. There are some amazing fitspo women out there to help keep you motivated. Find some on Instagram. Search the hashtag #cleaneating or #fitspo

yay! i love WW. i did it before and lost 30 lbs but then i was a lameo and gained it all back. but it definitely does work if yu stick with it! the best part is that fruits + vegs are 0 points so it does teach you to eat better because if im craving something sweet but dont have any points left i just eat some fruit! whoo!!

I have done WW before and loved it. It really does work IF you stick to it. Sometimes it is just so easy to cheat but you will love it.

WW really does work, I know you'll see results! I've been hoping to shed about 15 pounds and just cannot find the motivation. Maybe I should give WW a try, I did it before with my mom a few years ago and was able to lose a little then! Now I just need to stop eating Mexican food ;)

ReplyDeleteI felt compelled to share my "how I got my own ass in gear and got in shape" story here after reading your post...
ReplyDeleteI have always struggled with my weight, yo-yo dieted, done the work out bandwagon for a month or so and then always just kinda went back to what I was doing. About 2.5 years ago I had had enough! I ditched my pricey "Globo-gym" membership and joined a smaller, much cheaper gym, and I took the extra money (and then some) and hired one of their personal trainers. I trained 30 minutes a day 3 times a week and came the other days on my own to do cardio. It was the best thing I ever did. I needed someone to keep me accountable and it kept me eating right and in the gym. I don't work out with a trainer anymore, but it helped me develop a healty gym habit and good eating habits too. I would 100% recommend a trainer if you can find room in your budget for it, in conjunction with weight watchers too! I think you will be amazed at how good you feel.
By the way...does it make me a hypocrite if I just wrote that whole comment while eating nutella out of the container with a spoon? Oh well.

I'm doing WW too and its been working really well for me -- dropping that baby (cupcake) weight (or at least trying)! though I can't lie I get 14 extra points daily for breastfeeding?!? so I get 40 points -- seriously?

ReplyDeleteI went through the same thing a while back. No I'm not a "fat" (ugh that word) girl, but I wanted to lose the extra stuff I was carrying around. I started in January and have lost 20 pounds! I don't have a crazy strict diet and I don't count calories. I just changed my lifestyle, and omg did it work! No more fast food runs whenever I feel like it. If you can handle it, cut out soda, I swear it really helps! My biggest tip though is, do not think you will see results in a matter of days! Don't get yourself down if you don't drop 10 pounds right away! It will happen, I promise!! Good luck with it, and good for you for changing your lifestyle :)

ReplyDeleteGirl that is awesome that you are setting an attainable goal instead of crash dieting. My ass and thighs are my trouble spots too and lord knows its too hot in Dallas to wear pants! I've been doing lunges like crazy to make sure my legs are at least decent in a pair of shorts.

I've been on weight watchers since may and I've already lost 15 lbs! You'll love it! The hardest part is learning what the points are for all of the stuff you eat but once you have that down, the weight will just fall off. Good luck and I'm totally with you with regards to football season!!!

I cannot do typical diets because I just want to live my normal life and not always feel deprived. With weight watchers, I have found ways to eat all of my favorite foods and still lose weight! I think you will really like it!

girl you are a hard core pear shape if i ever saw one!! your waist is waaay too tiny for you to be an apple. i am in the same boat as you. my weight zooms to my thigh/ass. and its the HARDEST to tone up without looking bulky:(

Kudos to your for havin them kinda balls, girl! GO YOU! I think you are right - doing a 180 never works ... I've heard a lot of people have success with weight watchers and thinking of it as a lifestyle change rather than a crash diet to drop pounds. PS - the movies ... have you seen Magic Mike? (forgive if you've posted about it and I missed it) ... But, IMHO the plot isn't that bad, and seeing Channing Tatum dance is worth the money even if the damn sound doesn't work. Good luck, shug!

ReplyDeleteweight watchers is a cool thing. i joined in february and i'm down almost 36lbs since then. i've still got 30 to go before i get to my pre-baby weight, so i'm in it for the long haul....i love the meetings! i never thought i would, but it is so much fun to go...

Hooray for posting a picture of yourself and being all calm and casual about it... like "hi, here's me in a bikini, forward and backwards, and here's my dog and here's some trampolines." I am scared to even post a picture of myself showing anything below the waist. (I did today, though, am I am literally dying right now.) I once did WeightWatchers and I lost a good amount of weight. And then WW went all high tech with iPhones (i don't have one) and I felt left out and quit. Are you doing it the iPhone way, or the old school way, and are you going to weekly meetings. PLEASE TELL ME!!
